When will you have Artefill available?

Posted May 09, 2008 under Dermal Fillers - No comments

We have Artefill available now. Artefill is a permanent filler. It is similar to a previous filler called Artecoll. The problem with these fillers is that we don't really know the long term side effects of permanent fillers. Artecoll had problems with causing granulomas (inflamed nodules in the skin). So far, Artefill has not had nearly as many problems but it has not been around very long yet. If you are interested in long term fillers, you may wish to consider Radiesse. Radiesse can last for 1-2 years, it has been around for about 20 years, and problmes with Radiesse (which are rare) will dissolve over time.

Q I am thinking of having Juvederm injected into my smile lines to smooth out the folds. I am a first timer with fillers and I am worried about the possibility of bumps and the filler becoming hard or moving to a different area after it is injected. Can that be corrected if it happens? Which would you recommend, Restylane or Juverderm. I am a 38 year old African American. Thanks
