I have a tattoo that has my first wife's name. My new wife wants it gone! How long will it take to remove my tattoo?

Dr. Sinclair's Response

The number of treatments it takes to remove a tattoo is highly variable. Tattoos are permanent because the molecules of ink that were injected into the skin are too big to be removed by the cells in the skin that normally remove debris. The Laser will shatter the molecules of ink and make them smaller to they can be removed. The bigger the molecules of ink, the more treatments it will take. Six to twelve treatments would be a pretty good estimate. Treatments can be repeated every 2-4 weeks.
