Don't be shy... ask the Doctor!

Dr. Sinclair, I wondered what you thought about the Selphyl system that utilizes the patients own blood to use as a filler? http://www.ubsaesthetics.com/Selphyl.html Sincerely, Barb Slessman

Xeomin

Q. What is the difference between Xeomin and Botox?

Both products are very similar. They are both purified proteins which are used to help muscles relax. Xeomin is sold by a company called Merz. Botox is sold by a company called Allergan. At this time (January 2012), Xeomin costs less than Botox, but that could change at any time. Xeomin is nearly pure protein which makes it a little less likely for people to become immune to it. Before 1997, some patients became immune to Botox. Then, in 1997, Allergan reduced the impurities by about 80%. Since that time, there have been no new cases of patients becoming immune or resistant to Botox. Xeomin does not have to be refrigerated before it is mixed. Both products seem ot last about 3-4 months. Both products seem to start to take effect within 2-3 day and peak at about 2 weeks. Botox has been in the United States since about 1985. Xeomin has been available in the United States since November 2011.
