FAQ’s...
Q.) Why does Step 2 sting when I put it on my face?
A.) Our Step 2 has 10% Glycolic Acid as the active ingredient. There are ample scientific studies that show that concentrations of Glycolic Acid less than 8% are ineffective. Many products that claim to have 10% Glycolic Acid actually have only 7% Glycolic Acid. The reason that such claims are made is bit tricky to explain. The most common stock solution of Glycolic Acid that is used in the manufacturing process is a 70% solution. It is not practical to make a stock solution of Glycolic Acid that is any greater than 70%. Most of the products that are made with Glycolic Acid that claim to contain a 10% solution of Glycolic Acid actually contain 10% of the 70 % solution, which yields just 7%. Since our product acutally has the full 10%, it is quite a bit stronger. This is why our Step 2 may cause some stinging, especially on sensitive skin.

Step 2-Glycolic Acid Wash with Moisturizers

Step 2 is our Glycolic Acid wash. The function of Glycolic Acid depends on the pH (acid level) of the product. When Glycolic Acid is applied to the skin at a very low pH (highly acidic), it acts as an exfoliant (glycolic acid peels are applied with a low pH which will cause the skin to peel). Our Glycolic Acid Wash has a higher pH. When it is applied to the skin, it acts as a moisturizer. Most moisturizers work by trying to prevent moisture loss from the skin. Our Glycolic Acid Wash is different. It works by stimulating your skin to make its own natural moisturizers called glycoaminoglycans. Our Glycolic Acid will also stimulate collagen and elastin production (wrinkle reduction), and evens out the skin tone. Additional features and benefits:Glycolic acid will stimulate your skin to make a natural moisturizer called glycosaminoglycans. Glycosaminoglycans will allow your skin to absorb moisture from your body which reduces the need for applying other moisturizers. Apply for 2 minutes, rubbing continuously with your bare hands, or preferably with the Clarisonic MD Brush, and then rinse off. You can dramatically enhance the effectiveness of Step 2 by applying it with the Clarisonic MD High Speed Vibrating Brush. Size: 6.7 ounces, 200 ml $29.00 |
