SlimLipo

SlimLipo is a brand new technique for removing unwanted pockets of fat. This new technology was invented by Palomar Medical. SlimLipo is a device that uses a clear flexible rod to melt fat. The rod is connected to a laser that produces a 920 nm wavelength. This wavelength is very good at selectively melting fat while largely preserving other kinds of tissue.

The SlimLipo rod also delivers a second wavelength which is very good at contracting the loose tissue that is left after the fat is removed. By using both wavelenghts simultaneously, the SlimLipo device is capable of melting fat and contracting tissue at the same time.

Even more remarkable is that the SlimLipo procedure can be peformed with nothing more than local anesthesia! Patients who undergo the SlimLipo procedure are generally able to return to work immediately. Bruising and discomfort are minimized.

Almost any part of the body that has unwanted pockets of fat can be treated with SlimLipo. This includes the abdomen, thighs, flanks, upperarms, buttocks and even the area under the chin. After SlimLipo treatment, the patients will wear a thin but snug garment to hold the skin against their body. This helps assure that that the newly sculpted body will heal properly.
